Be a smart consumer
The Smart, Savvy Young Consumer: How to Save and Spend Wisely
CTV journalist Pat Foran gives young people sensible advice about money and finance. He shows them how to determine their net worth, how to invest in stocks and mutual funds, and how to be a smart shopper. He also teaches them how to find savings when looking for cell phone plans, buying a car, or buying a home. More importantly, he shows them the difference between good and bad debt.
The short chapters make the book an easy and non-intimidating read. There are a few spelling errors, but they do not detract from the book's usefulness. Overall, it would make a good gift for teens aged 14 and up.
